About The Brand
The Mission
TB Design Loft was founded not just to provide premium design services, but to also build a village that business owners could be apart of to find community, resources, information, tools, and whatever they needed in order to follow their purpose; even if it is just a step in the right direction.
I understand that sometimes it's not a handout you need, it's just a step in the right direction and some mindful advice from a genuine source.
TBDL is on a mission to build that place for current, aspiring, and growing business owners. I'm excited to go on this journey with you while we chase our dreams, and change lives.
Owner's Story
As an entrepreneur mom of (soon-to-be!) 4 young kiddos as well as a fur baby, I understand the value of having support from a strong village to help in the day to day journey we call life.
I’m also someone who moved away from most of my friends and family before starting one of my own, so I also understand how isolating and heavy things get when your foundation is either shaky or nonexistent.
In my experience and personal opinion, entrepreneurship mirrors this in many ways:
- The isolation
- The sleepless nights
- The overwhelming pressure and stress
- The fear that you’re doing everything wrong
- The imposter syndrome that tells you that you have no business doing this at all
- Googling every little thing because you’re just not sure what to do
I’ve experienced all this and more, both as a mother and an entrepreneur. I’ve shed tears, I’ve gone 24 hour+ stretches without sleep, I’ve scraped spare dollars and change together to make things happen. I’ve even walked in the rain, the snow, and the hot sun. I’ve done it with a partner and I’ve done it alone because my pride wouldn’t allow me to ask for help.
What always scared me the most about being in business was the unknown:
-I didn’t know what my next step was supposed to be; sometimes I even felt unsure about my first step.
-I didn’t know where to find resources no matter how much I googled or how much I scoured YouTube.
-I didn’t know who or what I could trust and what was a scam
-I kept finding contradicting advice from various people.
-If I did find a promising path or resource it required monetary investment that I didn’t have so it felt like hitting another wall.
As I’ve grown in my entrepreneurial journey I’ve always desired to help others with the same passion in the best way I could, whether it was researching, giving advice or referring trusted professionals; in my heart of hearts I love to see those with the fire in their soul thrive!
When I started down my graphic designer path I knew nothing about branding, I’d never even heard of the word. As I practiced and came across fellow peers in my industry I first learned about brand identity, then brand strategy. Both terms I’d never heard before in my life and were like a foreign language to me, but as I learned what they were and how they impacted business, I thought “why does no one talk about this with business owners?” As time went on I continued to see the same patterns:
-Bits and Pieces of information, followed by prompts to hire a designer.
-Content that was geared towards those in the design industry but not necessarily for the business owners that the industry served.
-Contradicting advice from multiple sources (which is normal of course because everyone has their own opinions)
-No real solid advice to build off of or even game plans that made sense
-No helpful options for those with little to no budget
So, I decided that I wanted to be the designer in the middle. I knew I wanted my business to be my full time job, but I also knew I wanted to cater to the business owners who either wanted to start or weren’t sure where to move next or why they should bother hiring a designer in the first place. I wanted to inform but not fully teach; assist, but be mindful of providing for my family. Cater and serve, without tearing my hair out from distress.
Through this long journey that’s still ongoing, I came up with TB Design Loft; my goal? Provide accessible luxury experiences and meet clients where they’re at, so they can benefit from a professional designer wherever they are in their entrepreneurial journey. From start ups who need DIY help, to the scaling owners who are ready to take the next step up whatever it may be. My mission is to support you in anyway I can so that you can grow a thriving business that matches your dream life!
From start to scale, I’m here to be apart of your village to support you; your business; and your dream!
